New Year’s Day 2020
I did this self-portrait at home in the Hunter Valley surrounded by the threat of bushfires. The heat was intense so I painted this picture to represent how I felt at the time.
The book in the painting ‘The Tipping Point’ by Malcolm Gladwell is about systems that radically change when a certain critical mass is reached and the present climate situation must be getting close to that point but hopefully there’s still time.
