These paintings are bouquets that celebrate the richness of bio-diversity on this continent, and wreaths that mourn much of its loss through climate change, fire and mismanagement.
From Gondwana to Meagnesia to the present, the story of Australia’s environmental history has always depended on its ability to adapt to climatic unpredictability and now, the new challenge of human occupation.
It is therefore a slow process and issues of cultural diversity must ultimately be underwritten by the environmental conditions that are absolutely unique to this continent.
